3First of all, lorries deliver mixed household waste to the reception hall you can see through the window.
4The material is then tipped onto a conveyor belt, where workers remove large items by hand.
5Many visitors expect the plant to open at nine, but sorting actually begins at seven in the morning.
6Right, moving on to separation, powerful magnets pull out steel cans, while an electric current removes aluminium.
7Glass is sorted by colour into three streams: clear, green, and brown bottles.
8Plastic is the hardest material to process, because each type melts at a different temperature.
9About sixty percent of what arrives here is recycled, not eighty percent as some reports suggest.
10One last thing, visitors should collect their badges from the gift shop, sorry, the education room.
